UK packaging plan to be redesigned
Dec 21, 2009—A challenge by the UK’s Business Secretary, Lord Mandelson, has delayed a new anti-smoking strategy, according to a story in the London Evening Standard.
An announcement about the government’s new strategy, which would have included some level of restrictions on pack designs, had been expected in a policy paper this week.
However, the paper has apparently been put back until the New Year while discussions continue between Mandelson and Health Secretary, Andy Burnham.
