Cuban cigar exports down last year
Mar 12, 2010
The value of Cuban cigar exports last year, at $360 million, was down by 7.7 per cent on that of 2008, according to a Cigar Aficionado story quoting Manuel Garcia, the marketing vice president of Habanos.

In 2007, Cuba exported cigars valued at $402 million.

Cigar Aficionado said that sources in the Cuban cigar business believe that the fall in exports would have been higher last year but for robust illicit sales to the US.
