Feb 3, 2012—Parties to the World Health Organization's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control will come together at the end of March for the last round of negotiations of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body on a Protocol on Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products (INB).
The INB is expected to present a draft protocol at a meeting to be held at the Geneva International Conference Centre from March 29 to April 4.
And the draft protocol is expected to be considered by the fifth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP), to be held in Seoul, Korea, from November 12 to 17.
The INB was established by the COP at its first session in 2006, since when the illicit trade in tobacco products has increased significantly.
