UAE opening six new quit-smoking clinics
Six new quit-smoking clinics are being opened across the United Arab Emirates, according to a story in The National.
One clinic was recently opened in Dibba and five more are due to open in January at Sharjah city, Khorfakkan, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.
And over the next few weeks, the Ministry of Health expects to achieve its target of providing at least two clinics in each emirate as part of the UAE 2021 development plan.
Dr Hussain Al Rand, assistant under-secretary for Health Centers and Clinics at the Ministry of Health, said each clinic would have a doctor specialized in smoking cessation.
A guide recently launched by the ministry outlining the latest quit-smoking techniques is due to be distributed to all clinics and primary health care centers.
