Imperial Tobacco proposes name migration
The Imperial Tobacco Group has said that it plans to rename itself Imperial Brands, subject to approval by its shareholders at its annual general meeting in February, according to a Reuters report relayed by the TMA.
The company was quoted as having said that the proposed new name ‘better reflects the dynamic, brand-focused business that we are now’.
And such a name change would help avoid the confusion that sometimes arises between the Imperial Tobacco Group and Imperial Tobacco Canada, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of British American Tobacco.
Meanwhile, Imperial, which last month announced its preliminary results for the year to the end of September, said yesterday that its 2015 annual report was now available at:
