The US Food and Drug Administration is seeking nominations for a non-voting representative of the tobacco growing industry to serve on its Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee as well as an alternate to this representative.
Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by an organization.
Additionally, the FDA is looking for industry organizations interested in participating in the selection of this non-voting representative.
The committee reviews and evaluates safety, dependence, and health issues relating to tobacco products and provides appropriate advice, information, and recommendations to the FDA commissioner.
All statements of interest from industry organizations that would like to participate in the selection process should be sent to Caryn Cohen at TPSAC@fda.hhs.gov by September 14.
Also by this date, all nominations for non-voting industry representatives should be submitted electronically by accessing the FDA Advisory Committee Membership Nomination Portal or by mail.
