Japan Tobacco Inc’s domestic cigarette sales volume during August, at 9.2 billion, was down by 1.6 percent on that of August 2014, 9.4 billion, according to preliminary figures issued by the company today. The August 2014 figure was down by 9.4 percent on that of August 2013.
Volume during January-August, at 72.1 billion, was down by 3.3 percent on that of January-August 2014, 74.5 billion, which was down by 3.2 percent on that of January-August 2013.
JT’s market share stood at 59.6 percent during August, at 59.9 percent during January-August, and at 60.4 percent during January-December 2014.
JT’s domestic cigarette revenue during August, at ¥52.3 billion, was down by 1.6 percent from its August 2014 level, ¥53.1 billion, which was down by 6.8 percent on its revenue of August 2013.
Revenue during January-August, at ¥408.4 billion, was down by 1.9 percent on that of January-August 2014, ¥416.4 billion, which was down by 1.6 percent on its revenue of January-August 2013.
