Japan Tobacco Inc.’s domestic cigarette sales volume during September, at 8.7 billion, was down by 5.4 percent on that of September 2015, 9.2 billion, according to preliminary figures issued by the company today. The September 2015 figure was down by 1.9 percent on that of September 2014.
Volume during January-September, at 79.7 billion, was down by 1.9 percent on that of January-September 2015, 81.3 billion. The January-September 2015 volume was down by 3.1 percent on that of January-September 2014.
JT’s market share stood at 60.5 percent during September, at 61.0 percent during January-September, and at 59.9 percent during January-December 2015.
JT’s domestic cigarette revenue during September, at ¥51.8 billion, was down by 0.8 percent on its September 2015 level, ¥52.2 billion, which was down by 2.4 percent on its revenue of September 2014.
Revenue during January-September, at ¥466.7 billion, was increased by 1.3 percent on that of January-September 2015, ¥460.6 billion, which was down by 2.0 percent on its revenue of January-September 2014.
