 Snuff ban proposed

Lawmakers have introduced a bill in Russia’s lower house of parliament that would ban the sale of snuff and chewing tobacco, according to the State Duma database.
A note accompanying the bill explains that members of Parliament are concerned that naswar and snus have serious impacts on people’s health.
The legislation would ban wholesale and retail distribution of those smokeless tobacco products.
According to the Russian Health Ministry, snuff and chewing tobacco could be more addictive than cigarettes and cause serious illnesses, including cancer and heart diseases.
