Zovoo launched its disposable Dragbar 600S on May 9.

The new device features an upgraded design of five flower-shaped air inlets, which allows for a more evenly distributed airflow. This creates a more comfortable and balanced taste experience, according to Zovoo.

“Without sacrificing user experience or changing external dimensions, it optimizes the internal space structure of the atomizing rod and enlarges the battery capacity to 500 mAh for durability. This new product delivers enormous value in addition to excellent daily experience,” the company wrote in a press release.

Inheriting the high-quality characteristics and positioning of the company’s previous DRAG series products, the Dragbar 600S adopts GENE chip technology that was developed by ICCPP, the parent company of Zovoo.

GENE has an “innovative and upgraded oil lock design structure that allows users to safely operate without oil leakage,” according to the company. “In addition, the more efficient atomization ability ensures that every drop of tobacco oil is safe and fresh, and the taste experience is consistent.”

The first offerings of the Dragbar 600s includes 10 flavors, including strawberry ice, peach ice and “O.M.G.” In addition, 10 new flavors will be available at a future date.

“Quality and taste are the core to impress consumers and the soul of electronic atomizers. Zovoo always adheres to the concept of ‘user focus’ and constantly develops new disposable vapes to meet the ultimate needs of users all over the world,” the company wrote in its release.

The Streamline Group has launched Juice Head pouches, the latest addition to its line of premium, fruit-flavored nicotine products.

Featured in 6 mg and 12 mg tobacco-free nicotine strengths, Juice Head pouches are available in five premium, fruit first, mint second flavors: blueberry lemon mint, watermelon strawberry mint, mango strawberry mint, peach pineapple mint and raspberry lemonade mint.

Juice Head pouches are thin, white pouches that are made with Zero Tobacco Nicotine—a trademarked synthetic nicotine brand—and are available in 20-pouch cans and 5-can sleeves.

Compared to other nicotine pouches currently on the market, which are mainly offered in a variety of mint or mint with light fruit flavors, Juice Head pouches offer adult users a unique “fruit first, mint second,” rich flavor experience that’s on par with the brand’s world-renowned e-liquid flavors, according to the company.

“As the needs of our customers continue to evolve, we are proud to introduce a new product that’s unlike any other currently on the market and offers discreet, convenient, smoke-free, and tobacco-free nicotine satisfaction for adults around the world,” said Patrick Mulcahy, CEO and co-founder of the Streamline Group, in a statement.

Juice Head is manufactured and distributed by Streamline Group, which is based out of Huntington Beach, California, USA.

    Aquios Labs Presents Water-Based Vaping

Aquios Labs plans to introduce water-based vaping technology this month, according to a press release published by Vaping360.

Most traditional vaping devices and e-liquids contain no water, and in those that do, the water content is 3 percent or less. Until now, the low viscosity of water made it unsuitable for use in vaping devices at any meaningful level.

Dubbed AQ30, the first generation of Aquios Labs’ technology can support up to 30 percent water content using a combination of specially formulated e-liquid and hardware design. Aquios says it is already developing the capability to support even higher levels of water content.

According to Aquios Labs, water reduces dehydration and irritation, helps to deliver nicotine more efficiently and produces a more natural flavor. In addition, the operating temperature of water-based vaping is much lower than traditional vaping, which enhances the chemical stability of the vaping process.

“We founded Aquios Labs because there’s still a long way to go in terms of improving the vaping experience,” said Aquios Labs founder Jack Sanders. “We believe that water-based vaping is the new frontier of nicotine delivery, and AQ30 is already demonstrating this by drastically reducing the dehydrating effects of vapor while delivering clean flavors. We welcome new and existing vape brands to consider how this technology can be adopted as part of a growing product offering.”

Innokin, a leading vape brand and manufacturer, plans to integrate Aquios Labs technology into a wide range of its entry-level devices. Consumers can expect to see Innokin devices with AQ30 technology debut in the second quarter of 2022.

“Innokin has always believed that new technology has the power to eliminate the need for combustible tobacco,” said Innokin co-founder George Xia. “When we were introduced to Aquios, our product development team was immediately sold on the unique advantages of water-based vaping. We look forward to hearing feedback about our range of water-based devices when they launch this April.”

1Account to Accelerate Online Age Verification

1account, providers of age verification solutions for the vaping sector, has launched 1click sign-up for consumers buying vape products online, to enable faster transaction times and higher customer conversions than ever experienced before, according to a company press release.

With 1click sign-up, any consumer previously verified on a website where 1account’s tech is present, can click a button and have their data attributes pulled into a vape retailer’s website registration form. Because their details are pre-validated – and there is no need for interaction from the consumer – there is zero user input error.

Research by the Baymard Institute estimates that sales conversions can increase by more than 35 percent if a vendor is implementing the right checkout optimization strategies. Its research also shows that average cart abandonment is just under 70 percent, with more than a third (34 percent) abandoning a transaction due to having to register an account online.

1account currently provides age verification services to 40 percent of the top vape retailers in the UK, including  E-Cigarette Direct, Royal Flush Vape, Vapourcore, Vape Superstore, VPZ, E–Liquids UK, Not Blowing Smoke, Vape UK and E-liquids.com, according to the release.

“People have always had a level of expectation when it comes to customer service,” Ben Keirle, 1account’s CEO, said. “Traditionally, in physical real-world settings, the benchmark has been factors such as pricing, quality and how they are treated by the vendor.

“Today’s customers, however, demand much more from their online experiences and won’t think twice about ending an interaction mid-transaction if it’s not to their liking.”

There are around three million vapers in the UK, 60 percent of whom are buying their products online. Hyperfast age and identity verification is not only crucial to the industry’s reputation as being a responsible one, but to the online customer experience and the bottom line, according to the release.

When consumers are first verified by 1account they have to provide their name, date of birth, email and phone number which are then checked against an extensive range of national data sources. These consumers, when subsequently registering on vape retailer sites with 1account’s technology, then simply need to use the 1click sign-up function to pull in all their previously verified details.

Consumers using 1account’s digital ID app, which verifies their identity by checking typical identity documents, can also take advantage of 1click sign-up. As with those who have been age verified previously by 1account, the company’s system will simply call up their data which was used as part of creating a digital ID.

1account aims to have an estimated 3 million verified consumers on its system by the end of 2022.

Swedish Match has published its annual report for 2021.

The annual report describes Swedish Match’s operations, strategy and financial development and is available to download at www.swedishmatch.com/annual-reports.

Swedish Match reported record sales and operating profit in 2021, with double-digit growth in both revenues and earnings in local currencies across all product segments.

Full-year growth was driven by strong performance in the Smokefree product segment with considerable growth in both the U.S. and Scandinavia. Growing demand for natural leaf cigars drove the robust full year local currency financial performance for the Cigars product segment. The lights product segment too displayed strong underlying performance.

“Our sales performance in 2021 was outstanding, hitting a new all-time high,” said Lars Dahlgren, CEO of Swedish Match, in statement. Dahlgren was particularly pleased with the performance and potential of the company’s nicotine pouches, which grew by more than 50 percent in the U.S. and Scandinavia in 2021.

    E-LiquiTech: Synthetic Nicotine in Stock

    Photo: Tobacco Reporter archive

E-LiquiTech says it has large quantities of Zanoprima’s SyNic in stock to help companies introduce new products to the U.S. market ahead of the mid-April deadline imposed by a new law.

On March 15, 2022, President Joe Biden signed into law a spending bill that includes a provision to regulate products containing synthetic nicotine the same as products containing tobacco-derived nicotine. This means that companies selling products containing synthetic nicotine will be required to file a premarket tobacco product application in order to keep their product(s) on the market. The deadline for filing such applications is less than 60 days away.

According to E-LiquiTech, SyNic is the same chemical composition of (S)-nicotine as natural tobacco-derived nicotine but without any of the impurities. Specifically, SyNic achieves a purity profile of 99.9 percent and is devoid of tobacco-specific nitrosamines, heavy metals and other impurities that are present in tobacco-derived nicotine.

SyNic is manufactured through a patented process in a cGMP facility approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and meets or exceeds the U.S. Pharmacopeia monograph, making SyNic a 1-to-1 replacement for tobacco-derived nicotine and enabling manufacturers to use it as a CAS number substitute, according to E-LiquiTech.

The company says all of the scientific data that is applicable to tobacco-derived nicotine is equally applicable to SyNic. The manufacturing process is replicable from batch to batch, and every batch of SyNic is fully trackable and traceable.

Earlier this month, Zanoprima filed a patent lawsuit against Hangsen International in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas to enforce Zanoprima’s patented process for manufacturing (S)-nicotine, demonstrating its long-term commitment to the U.S. market.

The Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (PACT) Act has caused issues for some businesses trying to navigate the new regulatory landscape. PactAct POS is offering cloud-based software that includes integration with major e-commerce platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce in hope of helping businesses remain in operation legally, according to a company press release.

“Pact Act vape compliance can be an overwhelming process for companies,” explained Terrence Johnathan, vice president of shipping and logistics for PactAct POS. “In some cases, the requirements are causing small businesses to shut down or stop shipping directly to consumers, which is hurting both consumers and manufacturers.”

PactAct POS provides registration, reporting, shipping and logistics, and government relations services.

PactAct POS is also releasing the PACT Act Survival Guide for 2022, a free e-book that focuses on PACT Act planning and strategies for 2022 and beyond.

“There are so many hoops to jump though,” said Johnathan. “We’ve worked with clients dealing with the vape mail ban [and] every kind of scenario, and we’ve been with them every step of the way. These companies don’t have to go at it alone. They just need to ask for help.”

PactAct POS is a cloud-based platform that automates PACT Act compliance for more than 250 businesses.

Geek Bar is launching its first range of shisha vapes, which will be widely available across the U.K.

The Geek Bar shisha vape includes 575 puffs and uses the same battery technology as previous Geek Bar products. The range, which comes with 2 ml e-liquid capacity and contains 20 mg/ml nicotine to comply with U.K. regulations, is available in a number of flavors, including Watermelon Berries Shisha, Hawaii Sunshine Shisha and Pineapple Guava Shisha.

The fruit flavored range is designed to help adult smokers quit conventional cigarettes. A study conducted by Nicotine & Tobacco Research last year highlighted that vaping sweet flavors associated with fruits were more likely to help an adult smoker give up their habit than use of tobacco flavored e-liquid, according to Geek Bar.

“Shisha pipes have become increasingly popular in the U.K., and we wanted to give those who smoke them a safer option just like we do for conventional cigarette users with a range of disposable vape products which have been a phenomenal success in the U.K.,” said Geek Bar CEO Allen Yang.

“Due to the popularity of Geek Bar in the U.K., we’re delighted to add this new shisha range to our product offering. We are plugging an important gap in the market which will support improved public health in the U.K.”

The new shisha range will use Geek Bar’s new packaging which will allow both retailers and consumers to check the authenticity of the product from a compliance perspective as well as make it clear that the product is for sale to only over 18-year-olds.

  • New Technology to Help Reduce Dependency

New Technology to Help Reduce Dependency

    Photo: pavelkant

VapeAway has developed a technology designed to help reduce vaping dependency. According to the company, the VapeAway filter attaches to an existing e-cigarette pod, automatically working to remove toxins found in e-cigarettes with minimal impact on the quality of the vaping experience.

The patented VapeAway filter is said to stop nicotine before it enters the body by gradually reducing nicotine intake in levels, beginning at 25 percent and increasing to a 75 percent reduction over the course of nine weeks, thus reprogramming the brain to decrease cravings and reduce dependency.

“Every e-cigarette, regardless of its type, flavor or contents, contains dangerous chemical toxins,” says Ike Sutton, the founder of VapeAway. “VapeAway offers the first patented filter that removes those toxins. Until now, those who were dependent on nicotine have been directed to nicotine patches or gum as their recovery solution, both of which use nicotine to satisfy cravings and with that comes a laundry list of warnings and side effects.

“VapeAway’s patented technology does the opposite and does not administer a drug to help people quit a drug. Our filters stop the nicotine directly at the source and reduce the intake of harmful chemicals while users continue to vape, all the while ultimately helping people quit in the long term if they choose to do so.”

VapeAway says its Vapor Freeze 2.0 technology consists of a proprietary blend of military grade, nontoxic fibers that freeze potentially harmful toxic chemicals on contact, protecting vapers and others around them from unwanted chemicals and toxins entering their lungs.

The technology has been tested to ensure it meets VapeAway’s stated use cases and it effectively and consistently performs to achieve the stated impact for its users. Preliminary tests were conducted by Enthalpy Laboratories.

According to SGS North America, the VapeAway filter is 100 percent nontoxic.
