    PM Offers IQOS Specials to Promote Korean Expansion

    Korea Philip Morris said it will expand retail availability of its new “Electric Purple” color for the IQOS Iluma i One to major convenience stores nationwide from May 2. The color, first introduced on April 10 through the official IQOS online store and nine branded outlets, features a deep purple tone with a bluish tint. To mark the wider rollout, the company will run a promotion through May 20 a discounted price in the 30,000-won ($19.80) range for its devices in all colors.

    PMJ Launches First IQOS Capsule

    Philip Morris Japan launched its first capsule-equipped cigarette stick, the “Sentia Purple Capsule,” for the IQOS ILUMA heated tobacco series on March 2. Initially available at IQOS stores nationwide, the rollout at convenience stores and other tobacco retailers begins April 6, with the Nagoya IQOS store relocating on March 7.

    The capsule product features blueberry-flavored capsules with invigorating menthol, allowing users to release a burst of menthol and blueberry aroma by crushing the capsule. The product’s purple color reflects the blueberry inspiration. This addition brings the SENTIA lineup to 18 brands, including regular, menthol, flavored, and capsule variants.

    The price is 530 yen ($3.34) per 20-stick pack, rising to 570 yen ($3.59) from April 1. Daniel Sevsick, Philip Morris Japan’s portfolio marketing director, highlighted that this is SENTIA’s first menthol capsule product.

    Philip Morris Limited (UK) launched the Iluma I One, the latest addition to its IQOS Iluma heat-not-burn device range, which now includes the Iluma I, Iluma Prime, and Iluma I One. The I One uses the bladeless Smartcore Induction System to deliver tobacco flavor with 95% fewer harmful chemicals than cigarettes and features a touchscreen, autostart, and Flex Puff technology for a personalized experience. The device works with TEREA tobacco sticks, including the new Pearls range, supporting PML’s strategy to provide adult smokers with satisfying, smoke-free alternatives and advance its “smoke-free future” mission in the UK.

    PM Japan Launches Sentia Icy Red for IQOS

    Philip Morris Japan introduced a new heated tobacco product, Sentia Icy Red, for its IQOS ILUMA i device and the IQOS ILUMA-exclusive “SENTIA” sticks. The product will be available in Japan beginning today (December 1) at four IQOS stores nationwide, select Yamada Denki and Bic Camera locations, and IQOS corners in some Don Quijote-affiliated stores. Online sales begin December 4, with availability at tobacco and convenience stores nationwide from December 8.

    According to the company, Sentia Icy Red features a strong cold menthol sensation combined with delicate fruity red berry and floral aromas, expanding the Sentia portfolio to 17 brands. The product is priced at 530 yen ($3.39) for 20 sticks.

    This launch reflects Philip Morris Japan’s ongoing strategy to diversify flavors and experiences for heated tobacco consumers while promoting its IQOS ILUMA platform.

    Philip Morris Korea announced that its limited edition IQOS ILUMA i × Seletti collection, launched in collaboration with Italian design brand Seletti, sold out nationwide within a week. Pre-sales began October 28 for IQOS Club Platinum and Gold members, with the official release on October 30 through IQOS.com and directly operated stores. The edition, featuring black and gold designs with Seletti’s signature patterns, quickly became a collector’s item, with the Prime model selling out on the first day of pre-sale.

    Philip Morris Korea highlighted that the strong response reflects consumer appreciation for the brand’s design sensibility and value, not just sales performance. The success follows earlier limited editions like Minera, Neon, and Steve Aoki, underscoring IQOS’ ongoing strategy of blending style with technology to enhance consumer experience.

    Philip Morris Japan (PMJ) announced it will launch the IQOS ILUMA i Galaxy Blue Model on October 29, a limited-edition device inspired by the “mysteries and infinite possibilities of the universe.” The ¥6,980 ($46) model features a deep-space blue charger with a starry gradient design. PMJ’s marketing director, Daniel Sevsik, said the edition was created to reinforce IQOS ILUMA i’s image of “innovation and future possibilities.”

    The company will also release its TEREA Clear Regular on October 27, a “smooth and balanced tobacco stick” for the IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i series. Sevsik said the regular flavor segment has growth potential, as users tend to be more stable than menthol and flavored product consumers. The new variant becomes the sixth regular option in the TEREA lineup.

    PMI Announces $37M Upgrade to Wilson, N.C. Facility

    Philip Morris International’s U.S. businesses today (October 2) announced a $37 million investment in its Wilson, North Carolina, manufacturing facility to expand operations and strengthen its production of smoke-free alternatives. The Wilson factory currently produces HEETS for IQOS 3.0, the only heated tobacco product authorized by the FDA as a modified risk tobacco product (MRTP) with reduced exposure claims. The new investment will add a production line for TEREA, the consumables for IQOS ILUMA, which is awaiting FDA authorization.

    “Our U.S. manufacturing footprint is critical to producing innovative smoke-free alternatives for adult consumers,” said Stacey Kennedy, CEO of PMI U.S. “We’re proud to increase our investment in Wilson and spur further economic growth in the area.”

    Ryan Simons, President of the Wilson Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the expansion, calling it a sign that Wilson is a place where global companies “can grow and thrive.”

    The Wilson facility employs more than 80 full-time staff and plays a key role in PMI U.S.’s strategy to replace cigarettes with smoke-free alternatives. The company has also announced major U.S. investments in Owensboro, Kentucky, and Aurora, Colorado, totaling more than $800 million and expected to create nearly 1,000 direct jobs.
